Lowell boys soccer got off to a slow start at Morgan Township after winning their seven previous games in a row. Lowell struggled to find their way into a compact defensive block. And in the twelfth minute, Morgan Township countered on Lowell's right side, sending a ball across the frame of goal, finished by #5 Nicholas Jaranowski. Lowell found their footing in the 34th minute when freshman Dylan Vanderlaan entered the game and found the back of the net twice in one minute, the first off of a long through ball placed by Christian Cuadra and the second off a throw-in into the box by Kyle Powell. The first half ended 2-1. The score would not change again until late in the second half when the Cherokees', Nicholas Jaranowski ,finished on a long cross from the corner, as Lowell was unable to find a clearance on the loose ball. Lowell did not give up, and found the game winner on a free kick from Justin Carlson that created a loose ball, cleaned up by Kyle Powell. The game ended 3-2, moving Lowell to 8-1 on the season. Josh Meadows finished the game in goal with 1 save. Lowell faces Highland at home on Wednesday as they celebrate senior night.
