Lowell Girls Soccer battled to a 1-1 draw against Illiana in an intense, hard-fought match. In the first half, Ellie Mirich put the Red Devils on the board, finishing a perfect cross from Macy Grskovich to give Lowell the 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Illiana evened things up late in the second half, converting on a penalty kick after a foul inside the box. But the Red Devils refused to back down—pushing the pace, creating chances, and keeping the pressure high in the final minutes. Lowell earned two dangerous direct kicks in the closing stretch, but came up just short of grabbing the game-winner. The Red Devils showed grit and fight from start to finish and now turn their focus to Hammond Central on Tuesday.
