Red Devil soccer earned a big comeback win against the Munster Mustangs. The game held even for the first 25 minutes when the boys from Lowell fell behind on a Munster clearance that sailed over the Lowell back line. Munster's Derek Bob #4 scored deep inside the Lowell box off a quick low pass. The first half would end 1-0. Just minutes into the second half, Marko Juretic scored off a defensive deflection inside the box. The loose ball found the back of the net and gave Munster a 2 goal lead. Lowell turned up the pressure on Munster, gaining several chances from senior forward Cass Hejnowski. In the 49th minute, a forward pass from Justin Carlson gave Cass the breakthrough he needed to finally get Lowell on the scoreboard. Lowell continued to add pressure to Munster, keeping the ball largely on their offensive end. A throw-in from defender James Fitzpatrick would glance off several players in the box and ultimately find Cass Hejnowski, who settled the ball to his weaker right foot, volleying the ball off the bottom of the cross bar and into the goal. Just two minutes later Cass would kick an in-swinging corner kick with his favored left foot, finished on the low near post by Lucas Brady - his first goal of the season. Lowell would adjust defensively, keeping Munster at bay for the the last ten minutes of the game, led by center fullbacks James Fitzpatrick, Riley Hirjack, and Trevor Redmerski. Keeper Josh Meadows would make a diving save in the last minutes to help Lowell keep their lead. Dylan chased a through pass and beat several Munster defenders to find the back of the net. His goal would bring Lowell back to within one goal of the Mustangs, but would not be enough to earn the win. Owen Klemp had several great saves in goal, filling in for an injured keeper. His 18 saves kept Lowell within striking distance until the end of the game.
