Red Devil Soccer got off to a slow start on Wednesday night against Wheeler HS, a sectional champion last year. In the 7th minute of the game, a long ball from Wheeler found it's way behind the Lowell back line and bounced under a diving keeper to give the Bearcats a short-lived lead. Lowell recovered their play quickly dominating the half and keeping Wheeler on their own half of the field. But it was not until the 20th minute that Lowell Sophomores, Mickey Sanders to Noah Hebble, drew the game even. In the Second half Lowell's dominant play created even more pressure. Noah Hebble again found the net, drawing a PK just inside the top of the box. A great save by the Wheeler keeper couldn't prevent Hebble from finding a rebound goal and a brace. Less than a minute later senior Cass Hejnowski opened his account for this season, finding a goal off a glancing cross form Parker Cochran. Cass would find two more unassisted driving goals, earning a hat-trick on the night. Wheeler would find one more goal in the actual last second of the game after a forward drove into several Lowell defenders and drew a foul just outside the box. The goal was not enough to prevent Lowell form picking up the victory. Lowell's record draws even at 1-1, as they chase last year's ten win season.
