Gallup to Take the Helm of the Boys Golf Program

Lowell High School Names Robert Gallup as New Boys Head Golf Coach Lowell High School is proud to announce the hiring of Robert Gallup as the new Boys Head Golf Coach. A Lowell resident with an accomplished coaching background, Gallup brings a proven record of competitive success and athlete development to the Red Devils golf program. Gallup joins Lowell High School following a highly successful tenure at Walther Christian High School in Illinois, where he established himself as one of the state’s premier high school golf coaches. During his time at Walther Christian, his teams earned 12 semi-state appearances and advanced to three state championship tournaments. His leadership consistently elevated the program’s competitiveness while fostering a culture of discipline, integrity, and academic excellence. Beyond team success, Gallup has demonstrated a strong commitment to individual player development. Under his guidance, 10 student-athletes advanced to compete at the collegiate level across NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III programs. His emphasis on fundamentals, course management, mental toughness, and character development has helped student-athletes succeed both on and off the course. “Coach Gallup’s track record speaks for itself,” said Assistant Athletic Director Keith Kilmer. “His experience building competitive teams and developing collegiate-level athletes aligns perfectly with our vision for Lowell High School golf. We are excited about the energy, leadership, and expertise he brings to our program.” As a Lowell resident, Gallup is enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve his local community. “I’m honored to join Lowell High School and lead the boys golf program,” Gallup said. “This community means a great deal to me, and I’m excited to work with our student-athletes to build a program rooted in hard work, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.” Gallup will begin his duties immediately and looks forward to preparing the team for the upcoming season. Lowell High School anticipates continued growth and success for the boys golf program under his leadership. A call out meeting for those boys interested in competing in Golf this spring will be held Monday, March 2 at 3:15 in the Health Room (G104). Please stop by the athletic office if you are not able to attend the meeting to pick up an informational packet on Tuesday, March 3rd.
