Riley Copper and Cali Kissel traveled down to state Friday the 13th to compete in the Girls IHSAA State meet. Cali was Seeded 12th out of 32 on Friday. She placed 13 on Friday, which qualified her to compete on Saturday at the Finals. At Saturday Finals, Cali placed 12th out of the state in the 100 Yard Backstroke. With Cali's qualification to finals, Lowell scored 5 points, placing 35th out of the teams at state (Out of 42 teams that scored in finals). Riley on Friday night tied for 16th place in her 100 Yard Freestyle, and had to compete in a swim off at the end of the meet. Riley was originally seeded 20th and therefore tying for 16th was a great time drop for that placement. At the end of the meet, the swim off for 16th place against the person she tied against, her opponent had a slightly faster time. Riley placed 17th in State earning her the alternate position. Riley had another best time on Friday, breaking her record again with a time of 52.75 in the 100 yard freestyle. We are super proud of the hard work these girls put in through the season. Riley is a Junior and we look forward to seeing what her future holds as she is such a strong swimmer. Cali is a Senior and will be headed on to Hillsdale College to continue swimming at the College level! We wish you the best of luck in your next chapter Cali! Great job girls!
