The Lady Red Devil cross country team is headed back to state. Their 6th place finish was the last spot for teams to qualify. This marks the fourth straight year the Lowell ladies have punched their ticket to Terre Haute for the state meet. This is the longest streak in school history.
Karina James had a day herself, as well. The speedy sophomore took control of the race early enroute to not only the winning time, 17:53, but a new school record in the process. She outpaced the next runner by 45 seconds. The great race by James was backed up by an entire team effort. Reilly Boyer (37), Jazmin Grund (48), Alexia Bibakis (60), & Megan Kaczur (82) were the scorers for the team. Olivia Decker (95) and Brooke Hayden (98) rounded out the top 7.
The ladies will compete at the famed Lavern Gibson next weekend for the state meet.
