For the sixth straight season, the Lady Red Devil cross country qualified for the New Prairie Semi-State. The team had one of their better races of the season on arguably the toughest courses in the area. The cold and blustery day did not deter the team from their goal.
Karina James remained unbeaten on the season and ran her fastest time this fall, with an 18:02. The rest of the team had phenomenal races as well, with several seasons best and PR’s bing set. Reilly Boyer (20:17) and Megan Kaczur (20:18) battled each other down the home stretch to finish 13th & 14th respectively. Megan Brandon (20:32) finished 19th to cap four Lowell runners in the top 20. Olivia Decker (22:36) rounded out the scoring with a season best, while Sarrah Krusza and Abagail Pflughoeft ran spectacular races in their first postseason 5K of their careers.
The ladies will travel to New Prairie next week for the semi-state, looking to qualify for their 5th state state meet as a team.
