The running lady red devils finished 5th out of 21 teams at the Valley Kickoff Classic down in Terre Haute. This meet has been the start of the season for Lowell for the last few years and is run on the state course. Karina James took the challenge seriously and made a huge statement to the rest of the state. Her 18:29 not only won the race, but gave her a new PR and beat the second place runner by 13 seconds. Megan Kaczur had a great race and ran her best on this course, while Jazmin Grund also set a PR. Brooke Hayden and Reilly Boyer rounded out the top 5.
Lowell travels to KV for their annual Hokum Karum and then onto the Hebron Invite next Saturday.
