The boys cross-country team participated in the regional meet at Lemon Lake County Park over the weekend. With their third place finish, the team qualified for the semi-state meet. This marks the 22nd straight season that the boys team has advanced to the semi-state round of the IHSAA tournament. Leading the way for the team, again, was Gabriel Sanchez – he won the individual title, as he did last year. His winning time of 15:41 was the fastest time run at Lemon Lake in well over a decade. Following Gabriel with a 6th place finish was Jacob Durr, who managed to finish in the top-10 despite a leg injury. Jacob was followed by the group of Jackson Bakker (24th), Nick Nuccio (30th), and Malachi Freeman (34th). Anthony Carver and Corey Ogrodowski rounded out the line-up for the team. The boys will compete in the semi-state meet this Saturday.
